NEBULUS '11

About The Event

This year Anjuman Engineering College, Bhatkal is presenting a National Level Technical Festival “NEBULUS '11”. The event is to be conducted in the college campus in the month of October 2011. The event is of two days and is going to be a good exposure to the local environment on a national platform. We are doing this event in order to give the students global exposure towards the real competition taking place in our country. We are expecting overwhelming response from other colleges of Karnataka State and Neighbouring States. Our official media partner for the event advertisement is "RED FM 93.5".

                             Paper Presentation

Your Ideas when given proper channel and expressed to the world can bring out revolutionary changes in the industry. So this event provides an ideal platform to the budding enginners to speak out their ideas to the world. For those with that extra edge, come here to express your innovations.
RULES:

• Papers on any technical topic related to Mechanical Engineering can be presented.
• Max of 2 authors per paper is allowed.
• The papers should be in IEEE format.
• Total presentation time will be 10 minutes including 2 minutes for queries.
• Abstract of the paper should be sent on or before 29th September to nebulus11@gmail.com
• Selected papers will be intimated by 4th October.
• Participants are directed to submit one soft copy & three hard copies of their full paper on arrival.
• Judges decision will be final and no kind of argument or conflict will be entertained.

Yantra-Manthana(Lathe Wars)

Unleash your machining skills, and let in to the groove of screeching rhythms of turning, facing, tapering and all you can in a lathe club.
RULES:

• Maximum two participants.
• Time limit one hour
• Top ten teams will be selected for the final round from the preliminary round
• Each team will be given with two work pieces.
• They have to complete the given task within one hour.
• Model will be given on the spot.
• Marks will be divided as :-
  • Time taken to complete the work
  • Finishing of the work piece

If any tool is damaged while doing the process, negative points will be imposed on them.
                           JunkYard Wars

Dust off your imagineering potential and transform the junk scraps into an innovative creation.

RULES:

• It is a team event and can have minimum of 2 & maximum of 3 members.
• The teams have to use the junk effectively to bulid a working model using their creativity & innovativeness.
• Materials will be provided to all the teams & no extra material or use of external materials is allowed.

                      Mindrill(Technical Quiz)

Its time for taking your brain to the extreme levels of technical quizzing rides & to push your brain cells to the limit…!!!
RULES:

• Teams should have 2 members in it.
• First round will be a written test having 30 questions to be answered in 30 minutes.
• Questions will be based on Mechanical Engineering concepts and general knowledge.
• Top 5 teams will qualify for the final round .
• Details of the final round will be disclosed on the spot.

               Mycanix(Cad Design & Drawing)

RULES:

• It is an individual event.
• Qualification into the final round after preliminary round.
• Software preferred is SOLID EDGE.
• Details of the final round will be disclosed on the spot.
